To Become a Driving Instructor You Must
Have
held a full UK or European union licence for 4 years and have
not been disqualified from driving at any time within that period.
(A foreign full licence will count under the exchange scheme).
Must
be a fit and proper person.
Be
able to read a number plate from a minimum distance of 27.5m (90ft)
Pass
all examinations and pay all fees.
Part
1
The first test consists of a question bank and a hazard perception
test. The theory test consists of 100 questions that are split
into four bands of 25 questions. You must obtain a minimum pass
mark of 20 in each band. The overall pass mark is 85%. The hazard
perception test consists of 14 clips and you must obtain a pass
mark of 57%.
Part
2
The practical test is conducted at the driving test centre, the
test consists of an eyesight test, show me tell me questions and
the driving test. You are allowed 6 driving faults but one or
more serious or dangerous faults will result in a fail. You only
have 3 attempts from the date you passed the part one.
Part
3
The part three is designed to assess your ability to give quality
instruction in a role-play scenario. The test is in two parts
and you must pass both parts at the same test. You only have 3
attempts from the date you passed the part one.

training, passed the DIA diploma in driver instruction, passed
the diamond special test, is a diamond advanced examiner and is
fleet registered.

course material can be supplied and structured to your own requirements
as part of your 1-1 training.

check test.
